Oh Garson, can you bring me a glass of bubbly? Who needs a reason for the season when you have champs. This week’s #FreshFriday is filled with the latest and greatest news about all things health + wellness. #LAFires (LA Times)
This week’s natural disaster has hit too close to home. The fires that have spread across the coast of Los Angeles have left families and animals in a trying time. The 115,000-acre Thomas fire burned so close that officials had to close a 20-mile stretch of the 101 and the 405 Freeway leaving LA in a panic. Unfortunately, the Santa Ana winds are not helping by spreading the fires in all directions leaving it to be only around 10% contained. Coastal and inland communities are threatened by the different fires as the skies were filled with ash and smoke all week. At this time we are praying for all the families who have lost their homes or are still at risk and we thank the Los Angeles Fire Departments who are working non-stop to get the fires out.
Going Live (Well+Good)
ClassPass does it again with the launch of their new live-stream workouts debuting in 2018. ClassPass Live will offer inviting workout outlets five days a week (no weekends). Going live will expand the ClassPass community and offer more value and flexibility. Each workout streamed will be HIIT-based and equipment free so anyone can hope at any time. A subscription to the new ClassPass live will come at $10 a month for current ClassPass members and $15 for new solo live only memberships. This comes shortly after their last endeavor of credit-based classes so we can’t wait to see what else they have up their sleeve.
Salutations (MindBodyGreen)
Charlotte’s Web, the leading supplier of CBD oil has now released a line of topicals. As anxiety is being openly talked about it more and more, the wellness world has welcomed CBD oil as a viable solution. The CW line has different hemp-infused creams and balms that come in different soothing scents. None of the products contain THC, which is the psychoactive compound in marijuana. So no, you can’t get high. All of the products contain healing properties that us hippies can’t wait to try.
Apple Of My Pie (The Chalkboard)
The NYC bite of the month comes from Alinea in Chicago with their one of a kind translucent pumpkin pie. You’re probably wondering how this is even possible. Well, we are not sure either as they have been reluctant to reveal their recipe. The crystal clear pie is not only eye-catching but said to taste just like any other delicious holiday pumpkin pie.
Have a great weekend!
