Sealed with a Rose

k-1.jpg

It’s Friday and we are sealing this week with a rose! We’re looking forward to a fall-filled weekend, even if it is still 90 degrees in LA. Before we go, here’s our latest #FreshFriday with all our favorite health + wellness reads from the week. #MeToo (Well+Good)

This week our feeds were filled with a new hashtag that carried a deeper meaning than most. #MeToo was created after dozens of allegations of sexual assault had risen to the surface in the legal case against film giant, Harvey Weinstein. Hundreds of women and men also shared their own stories of harassment across social media in support and to raise awareness While the posts were not easy to read, the outpour created a sense of comfort and attention to a serious issue that we too stand against.

And We’ll All Float On Okay (NPR)

In the current day and age, stress and anxiety levels are at an all-time high – but luckily so are new ways of coping. A float tank is a small pool normally around 8 feet wide and 1 foot deep and are filled with water and saturated with 1300 pounds of Epsom salt. Floating not only makes you weightless but also remove all sensory sensations.  There are multiple studies investigating float therapy as a nonpharmacological treatment for people with conditions like anxiety and depression to calm the body and mind.

We Flow (New York Times)

We are all familiar with WeWork as a collaborative workspace that has locations in most major cities. Now, the company has created Rise –  a gym equipped with space for CrossFit, boxing, yoga studios and cardio rooms for bootcamp workouts. Not only do they offer group fitness classes, but they also have a Jerusalem-inspired hot tub and sauna for guests to enjoy after their workout. And what kind of trend gym would they be if they didn’t offer drinks, snacks and a plethora of beauty products all made or marketed by companies who work out of a WeWork location? Memberships for non-WeWork residents start at $250 per month and they have already sold 150,00 memberships. #WeLove

Whole Foods Milkshake Brings All The Boys To The Yard (Popsugar)

Whole Foods stores across the U.S. all have their own trendy restaurants and taprooms, each with unique beer and food, but the Williamsburg New York store is now serving up boozy milkshakes to their residents. It is unknown how many other locations have the dynamic duo treat, but others have been known to craft specialty items like Frozen Rose. While we are super happy for our New Yorkers, we are really hoping that these make their way out west!

Have a great weekend!
