Live Fresh Forward

IMG_5754-1.jpg

In light of everything going on in our world, we feel it’s important to look at how much more good we have than bad every day. It is our mission, in these times, that we come together and continue to live fresh, forward and for the good. With that being said, it’s Friday and we have some good reads for you in #FreshFriday this week. #PrayForVegas (Refinery29)

As if Monday’s couldn’t get any worse, this week we woke up to the tragic news that Las Vegas had just experienced the largest mass shooting in U.S history. 58 people lost their lives and over 500 were injured, leaving the rest of us wondering what we could do to help. This article shares how you too can help – from donating blood, getting in touch with Congress and your local elected officials and sharing medical health resources for those who may be suffering as a result of this tragedy. #VegasStrong

Pretty In Pink (Allure)

Athleta has announced the launch of their newest sports bra that comes with a cause. Designed for breast cancer survivors, the women’s athletic line has released the Empower Bra, specifically made for women who have undergone a mastectomy. The bra is front zipping and made out of material that is sensitive to scar tissue. It also has pockets to expand the fit for those who have implants. It gets better, Athleta will be donating 12% of the proceeds to Recover on Water, a rowing team that empowers breast cancer survivors to come together and be active in their recovery.

Soul Power (Well+Good)

Our fave spin studio SoulCycle is opening a new studio that has nothing to do with a bike. SoulAnnex is the next best thing offering Move, Define and Align classes that all promote active recovery, HIIT, and dance workouts. The hotspot opened it’s doors this week in its first location in NYC. Early reviews of the space detailed that it doesn’t have showers but there is changing rooms to freshen up + retail therapy for every #fitchick to represent the new digs. We can’t wait for the studio to make its way to the west coast.

No Retouch, No Problem (Mind Body Green)

France has a new policy in town and we couldn’t love it more. To improve a collective body image, the country implemented a ban that requires brands to label retouched images in plain sight advertising their product if models had been digitally altered to look bigger or smaller. If companies don’t abide by the new law they can face a fine up to $44,000, but it’s worth it to fight the 600,000+ cases of eating disorders France faces each year.

Have a great weekend!
