#FreshFriday // September 29

This week was filled with flowers, a launch party, and so much #clientlove. Work doesn’t feel like work when you are having fun and have a great team, but now it’s the weekend and we’re going to close (ALL) our tabs. Before we do, we’re leaving you with the latest #FreshFriday.
There’s An App For That (Daily News)

Depression has been on the rise and is said to be the second leading cause of disability by 2020. Luckily, smartphone technology might be the antidote. Recent research from World Psychiatry’s journal has shown that the use of smartphone apps has significantly reduced depressive symptoms. The study shows that smartphones can and are being used as a type of integrative medicine for people diagnosed with depression especially when it comes to boosting their mood. As apps are helping to monitor, understand and manage depression there is further research to be done but the future is looking bright.

A Big Juicy Burger (The Chalkboard)

Mendocino Farms has just taken the veggie burger to an entirely new level. The California based sandwich market is now making veggie burgers out of leftover pulp from juice giant Pressed Juicery. The patties are made with pulp from beets, carrots, spinach, kale, romaine, and turmeric then blended with fresh onions, mushroom, and brown rice. Founders got the idea from Blue Hill’s “wastED” which is a pop-up concept designed to reduce food waste in a fun way. Not only do the burgers taste yummy, they are for a good cause!

I Be Up In The Gym Just Workin On My Fitness (Mind Body Green)

In a world full of #fitchicks and wellness, we all feel the pressure to workout every free minute we get. However, a new study released that to live a longer healthier life we only need 150 minutes of exercise per week or 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. Sounds doable right? Don’t worry about getting your exercise in. Fitness is supposed to reduce stress not cause it. However, if you want to achieve optimal mental health benefits from your workout, experts recommend running, jumping and stretching as much as possible throughout your week.

Pumpkin Everything (The Zoe Report)

It wouldn’t be our first blog of fall without including all things pumpkin spice. Our favorite grocer is at it again, this year, with even more things pumpkin flavored. Trader Joe’s is carrying pumpkin flavored bagels, coffee, cereal, granola, ice cream, butter, and our personal favorite, the pumpkin ravioli. No matter what time of day it is you can get your fall fix.

Have a great weekend!
