#FreshFriday // September 8

We made it! The weekend is near and we couldn’t be happier. Team clover is spread out all over the country this week but we still put together our favorite reads from all things health + wellness for the latest and greatest #FreshFriday.
Can You Walk The Walk (Refinery29)

We are in the midst of Fashion Week in NYC and with the energy high so are the concerns. It’s no secret that models are often young, thin and tall. Well, French fashion giants Kering and LVMH, who collectively own Louis Vuitton, Dior and Balenciaga to name a few, have banned hiring girls under the age of 16 to pose for their lines as adult models. They also banned models from the age 16-18 from working shows between the hours of 10pm and 6am to honor school obligations. On top of these new policies, they also are working toward banning all models below a US size 2. The company feels that their power in the industry should be directed towards positive changes for females. #StrutYourStuff but don’t hurt yourself doing it.

PSLs Are So 2016 (Well+Good)

Starbucks just released the new ‘it’ drink for fall and it has nothing to do with pumpkins – the tumeric latte. Released only in London thus far, the superfood drink helps with inflammation, while simultaneously protecting against cancer, clears up acne and fights stress. The drink is made with your choice of regular, almond or coconut milk + turmeric powder and spices all poured over espresso. There’s no word as to when the drink will be released in the US but we will be the first in line.

Drop It Like It’s Hot (The Chalkboard)

As you know, Amazon acquired Whole Foods earlier this year and since the deal officially closed last week we’re starting to see changes being implemented. One of the first steps taken was dropping the price on 12 items from our everyday grocery list such as whole trade bananas, organic avocados, organic large brown eggs, organic responsibly-farmed salmon and tilapia, organic baby kale and baby lettuce .Organic rotisserie chicken , ground beef, almond and organic butter also made the list -basically everything you need to survive a work week. While we still can’t wait for the robots to serve us our quinoa, this will suffice.

Girl Power (SELF)

Planned Parenthood recently received the Lasker Award for its ongoing commitment to providing essential healthcare to millions of people. This recognition is a prestigious honor for those making an impact in our country. This year’s focus had a lot of political turmoil surrounding the candidates, but organizations like Planned Parenthood that have become a go-to for accurate information about sexual health are crucial for continued growth and success for rights. Keep up the great work, Planned Parenthood.

Have a great weekend!
