#FreshFriday // July 7

Happy Friday! This weekend has relaxing written all over it. With a short week from the holiday and summer vibes in full effect, we still managed to round up our favorite reads for you this week in the latest #FreshFriday!
Parisians Do It Better (The Every Girl)

As we obsess over #SelfCare and spend an endless amount of dollars to improve our lives, Parisians don’t even have those words in their vocabulary, but still set pretty good examples of personal wellness. Parisians are known to indulge regularly, accept their flaws instead of changing them, wear what makes them feel good and they stick to their rituals (which we can relate to.) While they might not believe in “trends” we might be getting behind the Parisian one.

Foodies At Heart (The Zoe Report)

We are all about the crazy food happenings and this week we are back on avocados. The latest and greatest Trader Joe’s reveal is their new Avocado Citrus Greek Whole Milk Yogurt. It’s the perfect blend of tanginess, creaminess, and citrus. While this sounds like a mouthful, it really is the best grab-and-go fix… and did we mention it’s being sold for 99 cents? #BudgetFriendly

Dark Or Milk? (Mind Body Green)

As women, we all know chocolate is the cure-all for heartache, Mother Nature’s monthly drop-by and any other emotional stress we face on the reg. A recent study conducted by an Italian scientist found that chocolate can, in fact, improve cognitive function in the short and long term. The scientist sought out to answer two questions: does eating chocolate have an immediate effect on the brain and what happens if you have a chocolate enriched diet long term? They found that t it has the ability to sustain cognitive performance, which is linked to improvement in attention, processing speed and memory. We’ll take that second serving.

Will A Glass Of Wine A Day Really Keep The Doctor Away? (The New York Times)

We have all heard that a glass of red wine is good for you, but there really hasn’t ever been a study done that proves this. Therefore, five of the largest alcoholic beverage manufacturers including Anheuser-Busch InBev, Heineken, Diageo, Pernod Ricard and Carlsberg are funding a study to be done by the National Institutes of Health and overseen by the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to finally have an answer on whether or not alcohol hurts or helps people. There is a little skepticism with the research knowing it is heavily funded by the alcohol companies but hopefully with people’s health in mind everything goes accordingly.

Have a great weekend!
