It’s #FriYay and team clover is ready for some R&R and, of course, celebrations for the women who made us into who we are. Check out this week’s #FreshFriday for Mother’s Day brunch picks in LA and other end of week reads.
Mimosas with Mama (LA Times)
Ditch the cooking and cleaning and spend some quality time with your mom this weekend by checking out one of LA’s yummiest brunch spot. This extensive roundup includes some of our personal favorites such as Gracias Madre and Catch LA in West Hollywood, Tres by Jose Andres in Beverly Hills, and tons more that are worth checking out on any given weekend.
Safety First (Well+Good)
This isn’t the first time us gals had to worry about our feminine products, and it probably won’t be the last. However, after a few years in the making, women are heading to the Hill on May 23 to demand transparency in our menstrual products. There is even a bill in the works called the Menstrual Product Right To Know Act, that would make tampons and pads more safe, affordable and accessible. This is one of the most overlooked women’s health issues and we can make change by not only marching but calling local representatives in congress to vote for the bill. What we put in our bodies is crucial to our health and something so personal should be safe. #GirlPower
Battle of the Photo Apps? (Marketing Land)
It was no secret that Instagram took one out of Snapchat’s book when they also created the story feature for consumers. On top of that, they added bigger and better features like Boomerang. Now Snapchat is one-upping its competitor with a new looping video feature. A snap video can now be set to replay until the viewer taps to the next snap. Snapchat also has added an infinite photo feature where a photo will stay up until also tapped to view instead of disappearing after 24 hours. This back and forth of the battle of the apps has us a little dizzy, but we secretly love it. What will be next?
Go Eco or Go Home(Pop Sugar)
Team clover’s motto is “Fresh + Forward + For the Good” so we’re loving adidas’ newest sneaker collection made from ocean plastic. The collection includes three running sneakers that are environmentally-conscious and athletically-effective #WinWin. Keeping our oceans clean is part of sustaining life as it’s Earth’s biggest ecosystem. We will definitely be supporting the cause.
Have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day to all the mamas out there!
