#FreshFriday // May 5

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Team clover had a very good week considering we weren’t in the Bahamas for Fyre Festival, but instead, we were home in la la land trying another mystical frappe by Starbucks. Apparently, unicorns are out and mermaids are in (debatable). Before you indulge in too many chips and salsa, or have one too many kombucha margaritas, check out our latest #FreshFriday.
Is Collagen the New Protein Shake? (Furthermore)

Our favorite friend in the beauty world, collagen, has made its way to the nutrition side of things, but we’re not sure if it’s here to stay. Since collagen makes up one-third of the protein in the body it makes sense to want to use to restore the body. However, there are actually little facts found about the benefits of taking collagen supplements for health benefits. It’s assumed (not confirmed) that your digestion system processes protein and collagen the same. I think for now we will stick to using collagen for a youthful, glowing appearance.

Did Someone Say Athleisure? (Mind Body Green)

You already know we are big fans of sporting our leggings around the City of Angels from street to studio, but now we can also rock our swimsuits? Earlier this week ADAY, a technical, seasonless and sustainable clothing line, released a new swim collection that can be paired with your go-to jean shorts or dressed up a bit – it’s basically a bodysuit you can swim. You know what we will be rocking this summer. #Fashion

Don’t Miss Out (Well + Good)

The land of dreams wouldn’t be complete without the latest and greatest fitness studios + trends. From boxing by the beach to dancing at Madonna’s favorite studio, you can try it all. Whether you live on the eastside or by the beach, you can find one of these to suit your fitness #goals. Check out this round up of ten new LA studios and find one near you.

Time Is Money (QUARTZ)

This famous saying may be no longer. Michael Guttridge, a psychologist who focuses on workplace behavior, finds that humans spend too much time on simple tasks because they are exhausted from never slowing down to have a minute to themselves. If we spend more time taking a walk at lunch and just waste a little extra time on ourselves we wouldn’t doze off on our computers and be more present in the long run at work. Team clover is a big fan of the idea behind #selfcare. So take some time for yourself today. Your work and body will thank you.

Have a great weekend!
