It’s finally Friday and since staying in is the new going out, we have huge plans this weekend which consist of binge watching 13 Reasons Why (so we can join the conversation) + reading the latest for book club. Before we get settled in, let’s take a look at some of our favorite reads this week.
Ladies, This One’s For You (Mind Body Green)
It’s spring which means we’re all focusing on cleaning – our bedrooms, our bodies, our Photo app, you name it – so what better time to get control of your cycle. Cycle syncing is the new fix to balancing your hormones. Your cycle is nothing to be ashamed about and learning about your hormones and how they are so personalized to your body is actually really interesting. Don’t let estrogen and progesterone take over every month – balancing these two can lead to more productivity and predictability. P.S. here is a quiz to find out your V-type and tools to get you on track. P.P.S. Recommended Reading
We All Scream For Ice Cream (Guest Of A Guest)
LA is getting a sweet treat this month with the opening of The Museum Of Ice Cream in DTLA’s Art District. We experienced some serious FOMO when it was the hottest attraction in New York last summer so we’re pretty thrilled to get a “taste” of the action (+ it’s said to be bigger and better, like all things LA). Tickets are selling fast to see this bright, interactive work, so snag a pair so you’re not at home scrolling through all the #MOIC hashtags. See you there!
You Go Girl (In Style)
Katherine Switzer was the first-ever woman to run The Boston Marathon in 1967 and broke barriers she wasn’t even aware would have such an impact for female athletes today. This takes the term #GirlBoss to an entirely new level. Switzer is known for that iconic photo of men trying to pull her bib off during her run 50 years ago. Today, at 70 years young, she has logged 40 marathons during her extensive running career and, most importantly, has created strides in equality for all. Can you say #inspo?
Pic Or It Didn’t Happen (Man Repeller)
Nothing says couple goals like our former FLOTUS + POTUS. The beloved Obamas were caught trying to get the perfect shot and, as the PR and #social junkies we are, are here for it. We love this display of Barack Obama getting all the right angles. Having two teenage daughters and one incredible wife has prepared him well.
Have a great weekend!
