Spring is in full swing and we’re spending this weekend outside while gearing up for a fun client event in the city next week. It’s been a busy week in the clover office but, as always, we managed to scope out our favorite stories of the week. Welcome to this week’s Fresh Friday!
Move Over Whole Foods (The Chalkboard)
Santa Monica has been abuzz all week with the arrival of a new Erewhon Market. With clover PR’s LA office located just down the street, it’s safe to say we were more than ecstatic. This pure, ethical and sustainable store is no newbie when it comes to health – they have been around since the 60’s. While the smoothies might cost a pretty penny, the health benefits are worth it. And let’s be real – the Westside pays to play.
There’s a Bag For That (Refinery29)
It’s not everyday that fashion meets wellness, but now the only thing better than a good leather bag is an eco-friendly one. Mlouye is quickly becoming the it-girl bag brand based on good designs, quality and elegance – the perfect trio. The trending brand is sourcing leather only from environmentally-friendly tanneries in Italy and France and each bag is handcrafted in Turkey resulting in fully sustainable production. This bag deserves our kudos, just in time for Earth Day.
The City That Never Sleeps Now Sleeps (New York Times)
That’s right, us New Yorkers don’t have superpowers and need sleep just like our friends in la la land. Nap pods have been popping up in offices all over New York and now new nap cafes have arrived. Meet Nap York – a wellness club that offers pods for $10 per half-hour. Each pod is built with soundproof walls, airwave mattresses, pillows and even spacescapes to ensure a relaxing time to sleep or meditate. The priority of rest is now regarded as a major part of one’s health and wellness so trade out that latte for a cat nap and continue on with your day. If you need us we’ll be catching some Zzzs.
Listen Up Ladies (Glitter Guide)
Whether you’re working out or commuting across town, podcasts have become a staple for being “in the know” while you’re on-the-go. And you know what else is becoming even more popular? #GirlPower. We’ve found some of the best female-led podcast around in the form of 2 Dope Queens, My Favorite Murder, and Gwyneth Paltrow’s The goop Podcast. Check out the link above for the other five to add to your playlist.
Have a great weekend!
