Our next Account Manager will have extensive experience in an agency setting (we’re talking 5+ years and knowing lifestyle media like the back of your hand) plus strong understanding of public relations, existing media relationships, account management, creative thinking, problem-solving, and strategic planning. This position will be responsible for the development of new accounts and implementation of account-specific, PR and marketing strategies in order to achieve company objectives. You are known as a personable, proactive, a go-getter ready to dive right in and get started! Experience in social media management is a plus.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop strategic PR plans and provide senior-level strategic counsel to clients
  • Draft, review and distribute media materials, including press releases, pitches, bios and boilerplates, website copy, blogs and more
  • Strategically manage multiple clients’ business objectives, projects, and deadlines
  • Maintain relationships with top tier media to readily secure coverage on behalf of clients
  • Stay apprised of clients’ brands, products, and/or services their key issues, competitive situation and industry trends
  • Uncover and interpret industry information to accomplish client business objectives
  • Understand clients’ value prop and what drives their business forward
  • Work closely with media and social media teams to deliver on client KPIs
  • Resolve client concerns quickly and effectively with minimal direction
  • Delegate responsibilities, and check and approve creative materials, copy, layouts and production art to ensure they are in line with client and agency expectations and coordinate approval of same
  • Partner with company leadership to develop processes and procedures to strengthen company
  • Coach and inspire the growth and development of junior team members by providing consistent feedback, training, and growth opportunities
  • Lead and participate in internal brainstorms, message development and media training
  • Support business development process with proposal preparation and presentations.

Who you are:

  • 5+ years of PR agency experience in lifestyle media (beauty, health/fitness, wellness) including mentoring junior staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and knowledge of AP Style
  • Standing relationships with media
  • Self-starter, who can complete tasks with little direction and can independently problem-solve based on a combination of experience and research
  • Displays utmost professionalism internally and externally, with clients, partners, etc.
  • Ability to share ideas and experience to foster positive strategic collaboration amongst team members
  • A positive, analytical, and creative mindset to be used in identifying and approach challenges, inefficiencies, and ineffective processes with a solution-oriented mindset
  • Passionate about solving our clients’ problems with strategic and creative solutions
  • Ability to anticipate client needs, potential problems, and effectively problem solve
  • A good and active listener, someone who reads people and those in a room well (and adapts their style and response accordingly)
  • Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple client projects and deadlines
  • Is solutions-oriented, recommends solutions when problems arise, assists colleagues in problem solving, and seeks input from colleagues in problem resolution
  • Exhibits effective communication skills. Uses different communication tools appropriately and is equally effective with each channel
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment through flexibility, resilience and a positive outlook;

  • Understands the basics of consumer behavior, e-commerce channels and affiliate programs
